Aand....so what?‏ This is what I learned... 08/24/15

Uuhh...Hi everybody :)

Well, I have a week left to give it all I've got.

This past week was a little hard at first, because we didn't see the fruits of our labors. But I testify of diligence and obedience! The more obedient we are, the more blessings we see. I know it's hard to follow every single rule, and on time, but I know our efforts are worth it. …..

Because Friday and Saturday we gained 3 new investigators! None of them went to church, but that's what we're gonna work on this week.

So...I've been in Mexico for 17 months (and the MTC for 1) and so what?
So I learned a LOT. I grew spiritually (physically too, but we're gonna leave that out). I don't even know where to start!

I learned how important we are for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I learned that we can be instruments in his hands! We can do miracles if we just let him mold us. I learned how to rely on the spirit and that if we don't follow those promptings, we're going to regret it for the rest of our lives! I learned Spanish!!! (Who knew, right?)

I learned how to be a member (no pressure when I get back), because the mission work isn’t just the missionaries, it requires members, and if there's no support, there are not baptisms!

I learned how to share the Gospel!! Just gotta learn how to do it in English, now :D

I learned how to study and to love to study the scriptures! It's like a treasure trove in those books, you gotta read it!!

I learned a lot about patience and humility. Diligence and Obedience. Maybe that's why Éther 12:27 is one of my favorite scriptures. He can make us strong, but with Faith and Humility!!

I learned even more that the atonement is real - it cleanses us, heals us, and saves us.

I think I'm gonna leave it at that, because I could write about 15 pages, and nobody would ever read it :D

Basically, the Mission is a lifesaver (if you let it be) and an MTC for life. So, don't be afraid to work, don't be afraid to change and to be better. It's what our Heavenly Father wants. Hopefully, as we return home we can KEEP changing for the better.(Because everyone has to go back eventually).

I know this message is true, and that the Gospel is our pathway to Eternity. I know Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration and the Book of Mormon is true!! I know God answers our prayers and I know we have leaders that love and guide us.

Have an amazing week :) Keep strong and always smile :)
Love, Hermana Daniels

P.S. I learned how much I love my family and how grateful I am for their support and love.

Week number who knows what??? 08/17/15

Helllooooo everybody.

I don't have too much to say, honestly. Just that this week went by SUPER fast!! AGGGH!
It's all good. I'm calm. Very calm....

Yesenia got baptized!!! After battling a bit with keys and programs, everything turned out good. I was so stressed during the whole thing for some comments that I heard, but in the end I saw Yesenia crying with her whole family and ...well...it's a feeling that I don't think I can describe.
Just super grateful to Heavenly Father for letting me be here.

It's a little weird to be in an area for one transfer, knowing I have to leave soon, but I am grateful to be here. Sigue fuerte y firme!!

Don't forget to smile and laugh at yourself when you trip on a stair, and almost fall on your face :D

Have an amazing week!!

Hey Everybody!!! 08/10/15

I really don't have much to say this week...it was actually kind of a funny weekend.

Did you all know that I was sister-training-leader? hahah for about 24 hours. You see, when received transfer calls 3 weeks ago, they told me I was going to be the leader. Then, my district leader said they got it wrong, it I wasn't going to be. I got to my area in Los Cabos and nobody knew who it would be. So, I called and they told me I was the leader! And then the next morning, they told me I wasn't. After all was said and done, the sister training leader is Hermana Nicholl!!! whooo!!! She was my companion in the MTC and now we are in the same zone. Hahah haven't seen her the whole mission. So, her companion went to Culiacan for her visa, so Hna. Nicholl is with us from Friday - Monday. Good times.

So...today we went hiking and then went to the beach!! And went swimming!! HAHA just kidding we didn’t go swimming. Just to the beach. Buuut you don't get fotos because the computer doesn't want to accept my sd card. ni modo.

A good friend of mine, Sister Creager, shared this talk with me, and I'm gonna share it with you. You need to listen to it, because Brown talks with power!

I know I'm not a perfect missionary, and never will be...but I know what we share is true. I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet that restored the Church of Jesus Christ. I know we have to listen to the living Prophets because God speaks to us!!! Through them. And if we don't listen to them...how will we know what Heavenly Father is saying!?! We can't...

I know that any question or doubt that we might have...Heavenly Father is waiting to answer our prayers. Preguntele!

Love you all!

Correr como el viento (Run like the wind!) 8/03/15

If only I could run as fast as the time, then maybe the mission wouldn't fly by so FAST!

Yay for completed with the goals!! Okay, not 100%, but when I got here, and they told me the norm of what happens in Los Cabos I was a bit worried about how we were going to help. I have to admit, a lot of the people here are so polite, and then we teach a lesson and SAZ, we find that it's still not their time. But it's okay, because we are planting lots of seeds :) So, we do lots of street contacting, and first lessons, and a couple new investigators :) Hay va, hay va.

We have what they call an eternal investigator, because he has had ALL the lessons, always goes to church, reads the Book of Mormon...but he doesn't want to get baptized yet. The other day, he opened up a little more and said that he hasn't really been praying. So, there's a huge indicator of the importance of prayer! If we want to know the truth, and want direction in our life, we have to ask the One who knows it all! And if we have fear of knowing the truth...well...that's another story. We have to trust and have faith that His plan is better than ours.

We are teaching a part-member family, and the Dad is the only one who hasn't been baptized. But he has a desire to learn, and he even asked us how to do a family-home evening, so that's what we're going to do in about 2 hours :)

And man! Yesterday we had a family home evening super powerful! And it was especially because the family had invited one of their friends. We taught the restoration, and it was awesome to see the family remembering and testifying of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. The spirit was strong.

Sad story of the day: no computer wants to recognize my sd card. So, that's why you haven’t received photos for a while.

Funny story of the week...last week, actually, we were walking close to the beach, and there are always tourists in this part. We passed a couple looking at a map, and looking pretty confused. After walking passed them, I decided I had to try and help...hahaha with my awesome English skills. It was pretty pathetic as I tried to help because I only had 1 week in the area, and have no idea what to tell them. My companion knew more than I did, so I translated for her, and...hopefully, we actually helped them find their destination. Can I just say it's super hard to speak English!

My companion, Hermana Martinez, is super awesome. She's 25, and from Pachuca Hidalgo, Mexico. She studied...gastronomy. And knows how to cook lots of stuff :P She's super patient while I learn this area and she knows her stuff :)

I love being a missionary!! I know this is the only time I'll get to testify 24/7 of this message, and I know it's something that I'll never forget. If anyone wants to know what to do with his/her life...go on a mission!

Be happy!!
