Even as Christ Is 02-23-15

Heeelllooooo...everybody,                                                                  February 23, 2015

This week...went by really fast. Actually every week goes by really fast.

I think the main lesson I learned this week was to keep trying and to be happy, in spite of finding new investigators or not.

I also learned the importance of taking good notes. If you’re gonna take notes, make sure you understand them! I was looking back at all my notes that I took from the MTC, and surprisingly I actually understand pretty much everything! And...I relearned lots of things.
Like, being selfless, and not just wanting baptisms, appointments and people because I feel bad or something. Elder Bednar gave the talk, and compared it to being the Cookie Monster. So...whenever we want something...we have to turn outward, as Christ did, and think about what other people need. If we turn inward, we start thinking about ourselves, and we get caught up in what we can't change unless we turn outward. It's something that requires work, but also helps us realize who we need to be - Even as Christ is.

I hope you all have an amazing week, and don't ever stop trying. As Jina Harris told me, don't be afraid to do hard things :)

Love,
Hermana Daniels

We made tuna with crackers, and she put a cheeto type of thing on the tuna!
But it actually tasted pretty good :D

P.S. I only bowled a 102 :( but not too bad, because my ball never touched the bumpers ;P

 My Zone on P-day

Short email for a short email 02-16-15

Well, since I got such a short email, you guys get a short email.

No, I'm just kidding, but I really don't have anytime to write, because we have a zone activity today. We played soccer all morning and we just barely got back to shower and eat, and now we're going to do something else...boliche. Bowling :D

So...you'll get lots of info and pictures next week :)

Have a good week :)

A New Beginning 02-09-15

Well...I have more than 4 months in the Guadalupe ward, and...well...I'm really grateful for my new companion because we are basically starting over. Trying to work with the members better and really trying to find new people.

I'm actually learning a lot of humility...hahah whether I like it or not, I'm here to learn, so I should probably take advantage of it and forget my pride. Hermana Diaz pretty much came pre-trained (which is good) and I'm learning a lot from her.

This week, we contacted a lot of people, just a matter of finding them in their houses when they're not busy.

We found have a new investigator named, Teresita. She is a really nice lady, and totally ready to listen. She actually had to get up early to do laundry to listen to us. So, she has the desire. We just have to feed that desire so she understands why this is so important.

This next week should be pretty interesting.

Sorry I don't have a ton to write, and not a lot of time, but know that I'm alive and doing awesome :)

Have a good week, everybody :)

Yay Responsibility! 02-03-15

Hello people "on the other side" that I love!

This week was rather interesting. The people that we had found wouldn't let us visit them because they told us, "I'll let you know" which makes me really sad, because they are/were SO interested!! What happened? ñxldfkgjñosertñ. ya. Hahaha, but everything happens for a reason. I have learned that.

And we've contacted more people that actually live in our area! Yesss :) That's a miracle, you know. Our area has a lot of stores, a baseball stadium and a bunch of schools, so we contact a lot of people for other areas, which is good! We like helping our companions, but when we contact people that live in our area, it gives us hope :)

You all know that I've never liked too much responsibility, right? Well guess what?
I get to train Hermana Diaz!! Fresh from the MTC in Mexico, and she's actually already a good worker. I'm pretty sure I'm going to learn a ton this transfer.

I would love to send you photos, but seeing as the camera doesn't want to accept my sd card, you all have to suffer another week...lo siento :D

Este...I don't have much to say this week, but know that everything comes with patience and we really do have to confide and trust in the Lord and his plan. He has a much bigger view than us, and if we only trust in ourselves, nothing will ever get done!

This transfer was a special transfer that had 7 weeks instead of 6, because the last missionaries went home a week early for Christmas. But, I found out that it goes by just as fast as a normal transfer. There's only one week left!! And what's more, my companion is preparing to go Home!! That part's a little weird.

This week we saw some awesome miracles. One in particular, whose name is Maria Elena. This woman is unbelievingly prepared to accept the gospel. We asked her if she would be baptized and she said, "Yes. When would that be?" Very rarely do the investigators ask us when they can be baptized. But, oh man! She has such a huge desire to learn about what she should do better and follow God's plan. She cares for her Dad, who has heart problems. That's the biggest challenge for her, because sometimes it impedes her from going to church. But, I'm telling you her desire is bigger than her challenges.

This week, was pretty hard actually. I don't know how many appointments we had, but almost all of them fell through. Remember Miguel? He accepted a baptismal date in the first date, and then we had one more really good lesson, and then he didn't come to church. And then our appointment with him fell through and we haven't been able to contact him. But there is still hope! We'll see what happens this week.

I was reading in Acts 5 this week, and there are a couple of scriptures that really hit me. In this chapter the apostles are thrown into jail, and after a while the priests let them go, but that they couldn't preach the gospel. So what do they do? Preach the gospel, of course!! And in 5:28-29, is how we should be when the world asks us what or why do the things we do.
And then in 5:41-42, they left happy for being worthy to suffer trials in the name of Christ. Ha! I don't know about you, but when I have trials, I'm not exactly the happiest person. But when I think about it, it's really a privilege that we should at least learn from. If we really put on the name of Christ, like we promise every week, it doesn't matter what happens, good or bad, it's a blessing.

I'm pretty sure - no x that- I know God knows what happens in our lives, and even though it's hard, we have to trust that what he has for us is better than what we have for ourselves.

Have a lovely week, everybody :)

Con amor,
Hermana D.
