Hasta los cabos de la tierra prediqué el evangelio!‏ 07-27-15

Hello Everyone,

For those of you who are wondering what the title means "Until the ends of the earth I preached the gospel!" You see, I got transferred to Los Cabos!! And what's weird? I've spoken more English in the last week then I have in almost my whole mission. Lots of tourists...and it's so hard to speak English! I think they're giving me a chance to practice before I come home or something.

Los Cabos...it's not so SO hot here, but it's pretty humid!! I sweat a lot...I'm pretty much just a living water fountain. If anybody wants the Living Waters - spiritual or literal,  I'll be here!
Everybody here is really nice, and the ward is a good size, but there's not a ton of unity. That's something we're working on. And there are a lot of less actives here.

Right now we only have 3 investigators. – Raúl is a 70 year old man that lives in a little trailer. He wants to get baptized, but it's hard for him to walk and he lives far away from the chapel. We're trying to help him get baptized while he can...Crazy how one person can be ready at 70 and another at 15. I know God's plan for each of us is unique, but I know that he is always waiting for us with arms open.

Our other investigator is a youth of 15 years. She's super ready. So humble and accepts everything we teach and keeps her commitments! She's had some pretty hard things happen in her life and all before 15 years!

I don't have ANY room to complain. I'm so grateful for my family, and my house, and air conditioning, and food, and shoes, and support, and school, and the church, and cars, and beds, and pillows, and TEMPLES! and cement, and...well...you get the idea. :D hahaha lots of people here don't have a lot of those things.

Anyway! Our other investigator is Jesus. He has 45 years and he has been going to church for 2 months straight, but says he hasn't recognized the spirit still. But he prayed alone for the first time last week, so he is progressing!

My new companion is Hermana Martinez! She's super awesome and patient. I can't upload pictures, because my sd card got a virus, I think. So, just imagine a 24 year old young adult with black hair, tan skin, a little shorter than me, glasses, and a beautiful smile and that's my companion :D

I learned this week that I'm really not going to be able to learn everything I want in the mission, nor for a long LONG after, but I know that's what this whole life is for! If we are really children of God, and I know we are, imagine how much potential we have! Just...meditate on it for a minute...For me it's become something a little bit more profound. Even with all our weaknesses and mistakes he helps become something stronger and greater than we could ever imagine. So...read the scriptures and pray, so he can help you become that somebody.

Have an awesome week, everybody :)

The Last Leg!!! ‏ 7-20-15

Hey Everybody!!                                                                                            July 20, 2015

This feels super weird to say, but I am now in my last transfer. I haven't even finished yet, and I'm starting to get nervous. I'm pretty sure that's why they transferred me to Los Cabos!!! Whooo!!! I am going to miss this ward so much. I learned a ton here, and the members and the bishop are amazing. I really hope they keep progressing.

Felicidades a Joe Weiss my awesome cousin, Chris Freeman and Jarom for returning successfully!! It's pretty weird to think that you already got back, I sure you were amazing missionaries. And also, Angelica Creager, Lindsey Harris, and Nick Walker, I love getting your letters and I can tell how hard you are working and how much you love serving. It's something that I admire so much and I know the Lord will bless you so much.

I don't have a ton to say, except that we found an awesome family! We had a pretty long lesson because they wouldn't stop asking questions. They really had the desire to know, and we taught almost the whole restoration. The accepted baptism, and It's super special to see a family progress together.

Ana Lilia and Gerardo are back in business!! They couldn't go to church yesterday because of economic problems, but they are praying together and starting to read the Book of Mormon. It makes a HUGE difference when the husband wants to learn as well. If they don't have his support, it's not as strong or firm, but for something families exist and are eternal!

I'm still in Culiacan, because the flight doesn't leave until tomorrow, so I'll be getting up at about 4:00am...yay for early mornings and airports. :D My new companion will be Hermana Martinez.

I love being a missionary!!  There's SO SO much I need to learn  - I think every time I learn something new, I forget something else. But, that's why I love Ether 12:27. I know and I testify that our weaknesses are made strengths when we are humble AND we have faith. It's not one or the other, and it's waiting for the Lord to make the difference. After we try ALL we can and a little bit more, we grow in ways that Heavenly Father needs us to grow.
I love you all and I am super grateful for your love, support, letters and experiences.

Have an amazing week and be happy!!

                                                              Farewell to Los Gatos

Here we go :) ‏ 07-13-15

Sorry, it's gonna be a super short letter!

Buuuut this week was pretty good...pretty difficult, but I think that's how it should be. We had a lot of fallen appointments, but we did have appointments :)

Ana Lilia and her family are back in business. We hadn't been able to find them for 2 weeks because her Dad got sick, but they all accepted a baptismal date in August, so we are trying to not lose them again.

And the heat is back in business! And the humidity...lets not forget that vital part. I feel like a living water fountain. yay for sweating a couple gallons every day. But it could be worse. Actually, it does cool off, and there's a breeze now and then.

Learned (again) that the blessings come after the trial of faith (as promised by Moroni). We were finally able to get a lesson with Leydy and Jesus. They haven't responded our calls or been in their house for the last 2 weeks and we felt pretty useless. But, crazy what prayer and fasting do. I really had no idea what to do for them, but I also learned that missionary work is not a one man show!! I'm super grateful for my companion and thanks to her and the Holy Ghost, Leydy and Jesus heard exactly what they needed.

Anyway, keep going...always!! And Don't every stop smiling. And have fun :)

And remember that the trials are always for our benefit. I know God loves us so much, and as our Father he really wants what's best for us. Remember that the atonement is infinite, and applies for all things...It really does heal.

Have an amazing week!

Short but Sweet! July 06, 2015

Sorry, but this is going to be a short letter because I am out of time.

But this week was pretty interesting, and tiring. We had an amazing experience with a couple we are teaching. They both are 20 years old and the Laura (the wife) is pregnant! Kinda funny.
Anyway, we've only had 2 lessons with them and the second, we were reading 3 Nephi 11 and talking about how the spirit communicates. After reading the chapter we asked them if they would pray to know if it was true. They said yes, and they actually wanted to do it in the moment. I've never had that happen before, and man is it powerful! Edgar said the prayer, and afterwards, stayed kneeling for about 4 or 5 minutes just breathing. We could feel the spirit so strong and it was something really, really special. But! Like lots of marriages, they aren't legally married. And they can't get married until September! So they're going to be baptized in October! Better late than never (even if I won't be here D;)

Just keep going. Always :) I also learned the importance of staying humble and accepting help and advice from my leaders. They are our leaders for a reason, so just accept it and obey with a willing heart, and the blessings will come :)

I know we are where we are for a reason! Never doubt that and always stay true to what you know.

And Smile :) "50 times a day in the mirror" - Hermana Velez

Have an amazing week!

P.S. Yaya for A LOT of rain!!!

                                                           And an awesome sunrise!

Seguirá el Ejemplo de Jesucristo? 06-29-15

(Will you follow the example of Jesus Christ?)

Hi everybody!

Sorry, not much to say this week. My companion ended up getting a little sick and we stayed 2 nights in the hospital, and after that they gave her some 5 days of rest. And even though no missionary wants to rest, it's kind of necessary right now. So...we're taking it easy, but somehow still we still have a new investigator!

Remember Ana Lilia? Well, we don't get to teach her husband very much, but we taught the plan of salvation with them and it went really well! And he accepted baptism! They didn't want to accept a date, so we are working on that, but they are such an awesome family! Mom, Dad, 3 kids and so receptive! I have seen in the course of 4 weeks so much change between them. They were always a good family, but it's amazing what praying and going to church does.

I can't believe Heavenly Father let me come here and see so many people and so many blessings. I know this work is real, and I know He trusts us.
So, live up to that trust that he has put in you. Follow those promptings that you receive :)

Love you guys!
Hermana Daniels
