Hola familia!!‏

Alrighty, here it is.                                                                   March 8, 2014

I got here, and they just directed me where to go, and  I ended up on a bus that took me to a completely different campus!! It's the West Campus and it's only for Spanish Speaking Missionaries.
But before I got on the bus they gave me a TON of books!! There's a picture down there, but it doesn't really convey how many I got! Plus a water bottle with a purifier! Nifty, eh?

THEN I got into my classroom(which is in an apartment) and they would only speak Spanish!! Muy frustante!! I was so confused. And THEN - Brenda should appreciate this - I ended up in a trio!! Something to do with the fact that my companion's visa and she just went to the Mexico MTC? I really don't know, but now I get to be in a trio for the rest of the time. It's actually not that bad. Both the Hermanas are really nice and I think we all try to be pretty inclusive. One of the most annoying things, though, is that I have to sleep in the same room with them, and the rooms are NOT meant to have 3 beds in them, so it's slightly crowded and all my stuff is in the other bedroom. Pero esta bien(but it's good). So, our district only has 5 sisters instead of 6, which you should see attached.

And....lets see...P-days are Saturdays for us. We get 1 hour to write, however you can send me daily letters! It's through "dearelder.com" So if you type out a letter, they will print it for you and I will get it the day you send it, but I still won't be able to write till the end of the week.

And Dad, will appreciate this...They want us to speak Spanish as much as we can ALL the time. They call it "speak your language" and so if we don't know a word, you look it up or ask. But it is helping. Apparently 2 years of Spanish helps a lot. One of my companions, Hermana Nicholl(the taller one with lighter skin), she's from Canada and she's had 10 years of French! And the other companion, Hermana Waddell, is part Hispanic, but still doesn't know any Spanish.

Astonces (so), Yesterday they had us teach a Member lesson in Spanish, and the goal was to get a referral. And the referral meeting was last night! ALL in Spanish! agh! Scary! But it turned out alright. I guess we focused on the language too much instead of trying to just pay attention to the spirit and him. But how do you NOT focus on the language!?! It was frustrating, but a good learning experience. It's kind of funny though, because they're only role playing. Most of the investigators are real teachers, and so when they walk into or past a classroom it's hard not to think of the "investigator" you just taught!

But, one our afternoon teacher, who I thought was the best in the first place, is apparently an instructor for other teachers, so a lot of times we have people observing our class time and it's sometimes weird and awkward.

How'd I sleep!?!?! hahahaha It was fine. The first night was freezing until I realized that we probably had a thermostat, at which time I turned it to 75 degrees. But for some reason, I just lay down and my head starts either buzzing with Spanish or lessons and it's hard for me to get to sleep for about 30-60 min. Dumb.

Also, I like our branch presidency. They assigned "Sister Training Leader" and
Senior companions to the district. So, I'm the first senior companion in the trio, because they do it alphabetically.

We go to the Temple every p-day, so we went today to do initiatory. I didn't know the Provo temple was so big!

I can't think of anything else to say! Life's good. Everything's awesome...the problem is it's so NEW and there's a lot of rules and a lot to take in all at once.

How's everything there? Alan's employment? Stuff that I can't remember...

Love you guys!!
Adios,

Hermana Daniels
P.S. I don't know if you can see the drawing on the whiteboard next to Hermana Nicholl. She drew a picture after an activity we did with the teachers. Each of us tried to have a conversation with them like they were nonmembers in Spanish and Hermana Fa'asa(she's Samoan), Nicholl, and Waddell were very frustrated, While Hermana Funk and I were sort of happy. I don't know if I was happy. I was flustered and nervous after, but happy/satisfied with what I'd learned. Any way....there's that!
