Amor es el motivo 01-12-15

                                               January 12, 2015
Dear Friends and Family,

There's a phrase in Spanish, "Me plancharon" which literally means "they ironed me" but it basically means that they let me know how much I'm not doing right now or how much I need to improve

You see, we had a very spiritual, intense zone meeting. And With the New Year, we were told that the results in this mission are not acceptable. We are not getting enough baptisms.
And I was thinking, "I've been working hard, what more can I do?" And then they started talking about motives. And man do I have a lot to change. I had fallen into a routine of "wake-up,
shower, eat, study, leave and walk in the heat in the street, where there's not anybody because they're working, lunch, go to an appointment maybe, look for people, contact people that don't live in our area, have a couple lessons and go back home, plan, eat, pray, sleep. " okay, okay it's not so horrible as it sounds. And I am enjoying myself. But I had absolutely the wrong motive and I did not have very much faith.

Anyway...we were promised by our leaders (up to one of the Seventy) that we can baptize every week. It's possible! But where are my motives and where is my faith?

The next day we were asked to give the Relief Society lesson on "Love God above all else." And I realized that that's really where my motives should be: For my Father in Heaven and for the people here.

And as for my faith...I found out that doubt can't exist. Even the slightest. We have to trust completely that we'll be able to receive the promises we've been given. And I...to be honest, wasn't doing that too much, before. Like my cousin, Elder Weiss, I thought I was just a seed planter. But it really doesn't need to be like that. If our leaders, mission president, seventy and Prophet have told us that the time is now, then the time is now! If the field is white, already to harvest, well we're here to harvest :) There's no room to doubt.

This week was rather interesting, but super-fast. I learned a lot and saw lots of little miracles.
Remember Fabiola? Well, we had a powerful lesson yesterday, and she said that she would pray to see if what we are teaching is true. She finally has the desire to really know.

Oh, and I got sick. Hahaha yay for stomach infections!!! Feeling a bit off all week and having to buy medicine that didn't even help. Pero todo bien ahora :)

Aaaaand...I can't resist....hahaha I have to tell you :D   I dyed my hair :D it was my companion's idea! hahaha! It was hilarious, but not too much difference.  It's a tiny bit darker and a little red :D.  Actually, nobody's commented on it except for our investigator.

Thanks for everything and all of your prayers :)

Love you lots!

Hermana D.

The donut looking thing is called "rosca" and they only have them on Jan 6th. Inside, they have little dolls that represent the baby Jesus. And if you get the doll, you have to bring tamales for everyone on February second! And I got two. whoo.
