Día de los Muertos 11/03/14

Buenas Tardes, Todos!                                                                            11/03/14
I can't believe it's November!!!! That's crazy.

This week....hahaha I don't remember what happened this week. Agh!

I'm just going to tell you about a family that we found on Thursday. They were a reference from another Elder, and they are the most wonderful people in the world! Dolores, the Mom, has 3 kids: Ernesto, Flor, and Miguel. Ernesto was a premature baby and can't talk too much, but he's a good kid.  Flor is 14 years old and is the most interested in the gospel. She's the only one who read the pamphlet and when we asked her if she would be baptized she said, "si!" with more enthusiasm than I have seen in a youth in a while. And she gets a long really well with her siblings. Miguel is 10 years old and a social little guy. He has a million great questions and really wants to do what’s right. Dolores really is a good Mom. Her kids are so well behaved. Her husband drives a taxi, and isn't home very much. But apparently he doesn't support their decision to investigate this church. This really stinks because they are all really open to listening.

Familia Corrales...Pray for them, please.

Something interesting about where I'm at...
I have a baseball stadium in my area!!(be jealous, Matthew). They are the Culiacan Tomateros. So, there's a million cars here on the weekend and where do they park? Well, people more or less rent out space in front of their house or some in their garage, and the people watch the cars so that nobody steals anything. And it's also part of what Dolores and Miguel do to earn money.

They do have Halloween here, but "Día de los Muertos" is much more popular. People build little alters in the shape of a stairs using tables. At the top they put a picture of their deceased loved one, and then put fruits, candy, things the person liked, and all sorts of stuff that symbolize stuff.

Oh yeah! I ate a fish I last week! It wasn't that great. I was expecting it to be chewy and slimy - and it was - until I bit down on this white ball thing and it was really hard! But I didn't vomit :) hahaha no worries.

I think that's all I have for now :) Have an awesome week everybody!! ah!

Love,
Hermana Daniels

We also got to go to the "forum" It's just a dumb mall. But outside there's a park and a river (slightly dirty)

And there's a picture of what people do, more or less, for the Dia de los muertos.

And! Our bit of celebration for Halloween ;)

HAHAHA OOPS.
Oh! We also had a zone meeting the other night. And we ate pizza at the end. And of course, we have to take a picture...and I, being hilarious that I am, picked up a 2 liter soda bottle and pretended to drink for the picture! Turns out it wasn't all the way CLOSED! Good times...getting Sprite all over myself...sadly, no photo of that, though :P
