Dear People that I love around the
world,
This week was so amazing and
powerful! Probably one of the most powerful that I've had in my mission. I'll try
to do it justice...Here are only a few of the miracles we saw in no particular
order
So, I get here last Monday, and
surprise! We have a baptism already scheduled for Saturday at 6:00. But, with
another activity and other things going on we had to change the time, but
nobody would know when it would be! Ah, no! But...Miracles exist :)
Miracle #1
We were able to change the time of the
baptism, and still had enough support from the ward.
Tuesday, I got to meet the person
getting baptized. Her name is Jacqeline, 11 years old and has a huge desire to
follow Jesus Christ. Her whole family are members, but Jacqueline and her Mom
are now the only active in the family. Tuesday, when we got to the house, the
Mom(also named Jacqueline) wasn't able to get home on time. But for all the
preparation we needed to do with Jacqueline, daughter, we ended up teaching her
through the door/gate thing.
Miracle #2 I got to see a
testimony of a girl of only 11 years and she’s like the Nephi in her family
.
Tuesday Night we went to visit an
investigator, who was kind of interested, but the husband, not so much. We get
there, not knowing much about what we're going to teach, thinking probably the
ministry of Jesus Christ and the Apostasy. Funny, how plans change. They let us
in, and the husband also sits down to listen! We talked about Faith, and the
importance of Acting. So, we invited them to pray individually and together. It
was a really powerful lesson, and they both want to keep listening. And even
more, Leidy, the wife, wants to come to the baptism (of Jacqueline) and REALLY
wants to come to church!!
Miracle #3 You never know when
someone is really READY to hear the gospel. And we got there in the perfect
moment. It was a really powerful lesson.
Wednesday morning we left the house
looking for people and were able to contact a really nice lady, we put an
appointment for the next week.
Miracle #4 There
are lots of families in this area!!!!
After that we went to an
appointment, thinking the contact wouldn't be there, but guess what? - she was
there and totally willing to listen to us. We shared a message about Heavenly
Father and transferred over to the Book of Mormon. She told us that she wants
to learn more and that she would read it. She accepted with sincerity and I
really have high hopes for her.
Miracle #5 Another really
powerful lesson! We start the week out awesome
That same day, we went to teach a
friend of Jacqueline! Her name is Shesíd, 12 years old and really wants to be baptized.
She actually doesn't live in our area, but her aunt and cousins live there, so
she goes there as much or more than her own house. After explaining Baptism
better, the importance of having a real desire, and now just because her
friend's doing it, she wants to even more.
Miracle #6 Another lesson with an "escogido" or
"chosen." Shesíd is gonna be an amazing young woman.
As I'm new in the area, we had a
meeting with the Relief Society President. She is a fireball!!! She is so ready
to help this ward! She knows exactly who to help, how to do it, and she wants
our help :) I love people who want our help!
Miracle #7 The Relief Society Presidente is on our side, and trying so
hard to better this ward.
Tuesday night, as we left the
meeting with Isable, the Relief Society Presidente, we had to take a bus. As we
get on the bus, I ask my companion if she has the cell...because I forgot to
grab it. So...on the bus...searching in her bag for the phone, and we didn't
find it, so we get off to look for it, and probably turn back to find the
phone! But
Miracle #8 Hermana Heywood had the phone :D
But after that we still had to take
another bus...but there aren't as many busses at that time in the night, so we
were waiting and guess who pulled up in front of us??? some members of the
church!!! They offered us a ride, but in the middle of the ride they gave us a
reference! And then after that they bought us Sushi.
Miracle #9 Surprise ride, reference AND food :D
Thursday, we went to visit Clara,
the aunt of Shesíd, and we had the most powerful lesson on the Restoration of
the gospel and the Book of Mormon. She has a HUGE desire to find the truth and
a peace that she hasn't had all her life.
MIracle #10 Another really powerful lesson with Clara and she is SO
awesome!!
Well...I'd love to write the
remaining Miracles, but sadly, I'm out of time... Just know that I know this
work is so much bigger than me or any of my personal desires. I can't believe
God lets us participate in this amazing work, because it's a HUGE privilege!! I
know that Jesus Christ is our savior, and more than ever, I know the Book of
Mormon is true and that it changes lives!
Have an amazing week :)
Love,
Hermana Daniels
Also my companion, Hermana Heywood
is awesome!
Oh, and my shoes finally broke. I
knew it would happen soon :D
