"Clean the Map" Week 05/18/15

Buenas tardes, mis queridos amigos y familia!

So, this week the heat really started to rise! Whoo! But, we're just getting started :D

And during these days of heat, we had a couple days when we walked and walked and walked and did not find anybody in their house! It was kind of interesting, because I was pretty tired last night after 3 hours of walking and almost no teaching. But...the Lord really blesses us. We found about 3 really potential families and our agenda for this week is almost full :) And it was "clean the map" week because those that we don't find, after lots of attempts, or those that put excuses, get taken from the map for a little while until they're ready to hear the gospel.

The highlight of my week would definitely have to be ayer! I mean Yesterday. First, you have to remember who Leydy (pronounced Lady) and Jesus are. They are the most perfect investigators I have ever had!! They started out not knowing anything, and not having a very good relationship. Jesus had a job in a bar, and Leydy didn't have any self-confidence. But funny how things change when people have the desire and are humble enough to recognize the answers. After teaching for a couple weeks, we told Jesus how he should think about getting a new job for various reasons. Jesus prayed for a sign to know what we were teaching is true and after that lost his job. He took that for the answer, and finally came to church! And then he got a job!!! Sabbath day, man! And so he was working all week. Before the next Sunday (yesterday), he had been working 25 hours straight, and still came to church!!! And they are so excited for their baptism on the 30th.

You should also know that I had little bit of a trial of faith too. I think every person has their own attribute of Christ that's especially hard to develop. Mine is faith. I never know when my faith is sufficient, or if I'm exercising it right or what I need to do to have more! That's why Alma 32:27. You only need the desire to start. Saturday night I prayed. And prayed and I really just wanted help with my faith. I asked for more faith, and asked him to use the faith that I already had, and that Leydy and Jesus could come to church. I know that God answers our prayers. I know that we can trust him with everything - we have to! There’s no other way to get along if we want to have the best in all we do.

And the blessings of keeping the Sabbath Day holy!!! Man!! Just always be obedient to God's commandments and everything turns out find. It's like math.
Obedience + Faith = A ton of blessings.

Have an awesome week everybody :)
Hermana D.

I really liked Cyndy's blog (about Grandma Owen). It's kinda weird and sad to think she's not gonna be there when I get back. Of all the missions when she said she wouldn't be there when we got back - Steven, Greg, Ben, William, Keegan, Tiffany. Had to be my mission when she had to pass away. Everything happens for a reason, though. Oh, hey - just to clarify I accept the iPad and will take that burden off  you guys if you want Haha :D
