Semana Danta 04/06/15

Well...

I don't really know where to start this week...went by really fast, and we didn't have a ton of proselyting time, but we still got some good visits in.

I went to my fingerprints for my visa, to be legal, here in Mexico. Good times...and we had a mult-zone conference!! It was awesome. Listening to President and Hermana Velez is always inspiring...even if part of it is chewing us missionaries out...There's always something to improve.

Also, it was Semana Santa :D hahaha oh man, it was almost as good as Christmas. Because there are 2 weeks of vacations in the schools and everyone goes to the beaches and stuff...so...that was kind of fun. And we tried a dessert called "Capirotada" that they only do during Easter.

But the miracles never cease. Our Relief Society President, Isabel, is very enthusiastic about missionary work, and helping the sisters in the ward. So, she accompanied us all Friday afternoon to visit people! And of course, a lot of people weren't there, but we had about 4 really good lessons with some less actives, and I was reminded that sometimes we just have to trust in God's timing.

And Conference!!! Oh man! Did you guys watch conference!?!?! It was amazing.
So many things that I loved. I really liked the talk by...I forget who...that talked about listening to the music, and that it requires practice! And if we don't learn to listen to the music, we're just dancing along, because that's what people expect, but there's really not much point. So...We have to remember why we are doing the things we are doing. And if we don't know why, well we have to ask why and find out. God doesn't just want to see the motions; he wants to see our conversion.

Well...I gotta go, because I'm gonna cut my hair :D (no se preocupe - just about 2 inches because my hair is dying).

My companion - Hermana Heywood and me.

She is pretty hilarious.
We get along really well. She's trying so hard to learn Spanish and improves every day - something that I need to keep doing and not fall into a pit just because I understand the Spanish now. But! (Dad will like this) We always speak Spanish in the house!

And actually the other day, an Elder asked help on his English, so we had to speak and English, and my companion told me it was weird to hear me speak in English for the first time. Hahaha Agh, english! I don't know you anymore :D

Well...yeah...that's all. Everyone have an awesome week!!!
But I'll come back later...Questions?

Love ya'll,
Hermana D.

This is a picture of Capirotada. It's made out of bread, peanuts, raisins, baked in something called pilonsillo with cinnamon, cloves, and....I think that's all. It's kind of like bread pudding... different...hahaha but really not so bad.

I tried to make a Mexican dish called Chilaquiles. It didn't taste too bad!
